The mainland connection
Billy Bishop’s passenger terminal is on Toronto Island. Arriving passengers commonly continue to the mainland using the pedestrian tunnel or ferry before meeting their ground transport. Include that crossing when planning your pickup.
The tunnel entrance is inside the mainland pavilion. The airport describes elevators, moving walkways and elevator or escalator access at the island end. Its advertised curb-to-check-in time is not a total allowance for baggage, security or boarding.
A meeting point you both understand
The airport says the mainland pavilion and ferry-terminal curb is for active loading and unloading. Turning-circle spaces allow a maximum five-minute wait when a passenger is ready; early drivers should use parking. A car cannot simply remain at the curb while you finish your arrival.
Use the meeting location and contact instructions confirmed for your PRT journey. The airport taxi corral is a taxi queue, not a universal meeting point for pre-arranged chauffeur bookings. Island-side access requires separate arrangements and must not be assumed.
Leave room for the crossing
The airport describes the ferry crossing as approximately 90 seconds and free for pedestrians. That is the crossing itself, not waiting or total transfer time. Published ferry timing can change with weather and capacity.
For a departure, work backwards from your airline’s check-in and boarding requirements. Allow time for road traffic, the mainland-to-terminal connection and the usual airport process.
What to put in the request
Include YTZ, the flight number, travel date, local time, passenger contact and onward address. Tell the desk about bags, children or assistance needs, then check the confirmed vehicle and waiting terms.
If your flight changes, update the desk before travelling to a different airport or meeting point. A revised route can require a new quotation.
